Dennis Waldron takes over as President and CEO of Elmer's® Restaurants, Inc. in January. Bruce Davis remains on as Chairman of the Board. The Company rolls out its first themed menu promotion, Destination SW, in April and sees significant increases in average check. In July, another themed menu is introduced emphasizing Northwest ingredients such as berries, hazelnuts and salmon and is another success. |

A franchised restaurant opens in July in Coeur d'Alene, ID. A new Company operated Elmer's, the prototype of the new Elmer's building, opens at the end of the year. In March, the Company announces the addition of Dennis Waldron to its Board of Directors. Waldron is President of Ruby's Northwest LLC, a multi-unit franchisee of Ruby's Diner, and served 10 years as President and CEO of Cinnabon International. |

Elmer's Restaurants, Inc. reports another year of record revenues and earnings for fiscal 2002. The Company targets introduction of the new Elmer's prototype in the Portland-metropolitan area. In March, a franchised-owned Elmer's opens in Nampa, Idaho, the third Elmer's in the Boise-metropolitan area. In April, the Company acquires the Vancouver (Mill Plain) Elmer's. In May, a group of multi-unit restaurant operators acquires the Roseburg, Grants Pass, and Medford Elmer's and agrees to open at least two more. In October, a franchised Elmer's opens in Klamath Falls, Oregon. In November, William Service steps down from day-to-day operations, but remains strategic advisor and board member. Bruce Davis, Company President, assumes CEO position. |
